Get Rid of Sleep Problems Once And For All

Picture
It is estimated that in the U.S., 35% of Americans get less than the recommended 7 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is without a doubt one of the most influential factors on your physical and mental health. Lack of quality or adequate sleep will result in suppressed immune function, neuro-inflammation, poor fat loss and metabolic function and much more.

Statistics About Sleep

Here are some more statistics about sleep issues in the United States, each of which can be addressed in some manner with hypnosis and hypnotherapy:
  • 60 million Americans suffer from insomnia
  • 12 million Americans suffer from restless leg syndrome
  • 3 million suffer from a REM sleep disorder
  • 45-54yr olds are getting the least amount of sleep
  • 75% of people who suffer from depression also suffer from poor sleep

Subconscious Causes of Sleep Issues

The underlying causes of sleep issues is quite varied and many times unclear. In part, this speaks to the strong involvement of the subconscious mind in its contribution to sleep disruption and inadequate sleep. If you happen to have a diagnosed sleep disorder then you will need to get a referral from your physician before working on the subconscious aspects of your sleep challenge.

That being said most of those 60 million Americans aren't dealing with diagnosed sleep conditions and all people with sleep challenges would benefit greatly from working on the contributions made by the subconscious mind. Here are some common emotional issues that contribute to sleep problems, which hypnotherapy can quickly help:
  • High stress job
  • Difficult relationships
  • Unmet needs
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Inability to relax

Hypnotherapy and Sleep Problems

There are several ways in which hypnosis and hypnotherapy will help with your sleep issues. The great news is that it can help usually in just a few sessions. Below is a list of ways in which hypnotherapy can help you with getting better sleep:
  • Relaxing the body - hypnosis is extremely effective at getting the body to relax. In turn when the body relaxes the mind starts to relax, making it much easier to fall asleep.
  • Quieting the mind - similar to the body the mind can be quieted effectively with hypnosis. Often times there is also a part that is activated at night and doing the deeper work of hypnotherapy can address that part and help to give it a more beneficial assignment besides keeping you up thinking all night.
  • Changing habits - sometimes sleep disruption is a relatively benign habit, meaning that for a week you were waking up in the middle of the night for some reason or another but that cause is no longer present, yet you still wake up in the middle of the night anyway. Hypnosis can program the subconscious mind to make a different choice and thereby keep you asleep rather than waking up.
  • Resolving deeper issues - our beds and bedrooms can be tangled up with all sorts of past traumas even dating back to our childhood. Hypnotherapy has the power to address these safely and effectively and reframe your relationship to the bedroom and bed.
  • Pain or other health issues - as mentioned, you will need a referral or prescription from an appropriate medical professional for a medical issue but hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be quite effective at reducing pain as well as helping with other issues.

Fast Sleep Improvements With Hypnosis

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are not a miracle cure by any means but in many cases the resolution of an issue with sleep can be quite quick. Typically this can be in about 3-5 sessions depending on the underlying contributors to the sleep problem. The first session is always a hypnotic programming session to introduce you to the experience of hypnosis and to provide you with a recording to listen to before bed. Subsequent sessions will delve into some of the other potential contributors to your sleep challenge. If you feel like you have tried other things that just haven't worked, then maybe it's time to try hypnosis. One of the greatest things about hypnosis is that once you've done it for an issue you typically don't have to do it again after it has resolved unless there is a new cause.
